The Leonard family started growing pecans in Texas during the 1930’s and over the next 50 years expanded our orchards to over 6,000 acres. Most of these orchards are still in production and the pecans that we offer to you come fresh from these orchards.
The Leonard Farms Pecan Store was established in 1988 as a way of offering the pecans grown in our orchards directly to the public through various retail outlets. This business is owned and operated by Ben Anthony, a third generation pecan farmer from the original Leonard family.
From the beginning mail order has been an important part of our pecan business. Each year we ship pecans to all 50 states and several foreign countries. Many companies allow us to help them express appreciation to their customers with attractive gift packages of delicious pecan products.
Shelled pecans have always been our staple product - but our signature product is our chocolate covered pecan. Our premium pecans are enrobed in an irresistible chocolate which will satisfy any chocolate lover’s palate. The dipping of these delicious pecans is done at our facility located on the Leonard Bend Farm.
The Anthony family still owns and operates the Leonard Bend Farm located in Granbury, Texas. This orchard now consists of 1,500 acres located inside the prestigious, gated residential community known as Pecan Plantation, surrounded by the Brazos River. www.pecanplantation.com
